Drafting with the NLC

Carting on the Chesapeake

Qualifiers

What a weekend! We had great participation in the Carting on the Chesapeake draft trial hosted by Bonnie and Bill Wilson on their scenic waterfront property in St. Michaels, Maryland. Out of 14 entries, our judges J. Skorup and J. Rassmussen awarded two Open dogs New Title ribbons and trophies! Congratulations to these teams – your performances were inspiring to watch. With a difficult maneuvering course and many first time entrants, it was a day filled with learning through fun experience and shared knowledge. A very big thank you to our judges for the time they took and the detailed feedback provided not only to each team entered in the trial, but also to the Draft Committee. The Wilsons hosted a lovely lunch on their wraparound porch overlooking the water. The Northeast Leonberger Club sponsoring the trial will be donating 100% of the proceeds from lunch to the Leonberger Health Foundation International. We had a raffle table full of gift baskets and custom crafted items. Proceeds from the raffle will be split 50/50 between LHFI and Leo Rescue Pals. The Draft Committee dedicated the trial to veteran dogs in honor of their years of love and loyalty. As Chair I’d like to thank the rest of the committee, stewards, volunteers, raffle contributors, goodie bag donators, and of course the hosts and judges. The day would not have been possible without the collective efforts of all. Congratulations again to the teams with new titles and terrific work from all entrants.
